At The Pride Soap Company LLC, every bar of soap tells a story—of tradition, identity, faith, and purpose.
My name is Billy Williams, and I am the owner and head soap maker behind the brand. My journey with soap making began in childhood, when my grandfather first taught me the craft. What started as a simple skill passed down through generations has grown into something much deeper: a creative outlet, a passion, and now a business rooted in meaning.
With encouragement from my husband, family, and friends, I took that passion and turned it into The Pride Soap Company—a space where artistry, authenticity, and purpose come together.
Why “Pride”?
The name “Pride” is deeply personal.
As an openly gay man, this company is proudly LGBTQ+ owned and operated. But “Pride” means more than identity—it represents living authentically, loving boldly, and creating a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
A Foundation of Faith
My faith is at the center of everything I do.
I am a minister in discernment within the United Church of Christ and serve on the Eastern North Carolina Association of the Southern Conference Board of Directors. My calling to ministry shapes not only who I am, but how I run this business.
Our guiding scripture is Micah 6:8:
“Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.”
This verse is more than words—it’s our commitment. We strive to reflect justice, extend mercy, and lead with humility in every bar we create and every customer we serve.
A Life of Service
Service has always been a central part of my life.
I began working in EMS and rescue in my hometown of Eden, North Carolina, with the Eden Rescue Squad. Over the past 14 years, I have served in the field, including the last 5 years as a North Carolina State Paramedic. That calling to care for others—often in their most vulnerable moments—has deeply shaped who I am.
That same spirit of compassion, care, and commitment carries into this business and into every product we make.

All of our soaps are made with intention, care, and integrity.
- Most of our soaps are 100% handmade in Pittsboro, North Carolina
- Created using the traditional cold process method
- Produced in small batches to ensure quality and freshness
- Made with ethically sourced, environmentally responsible ingredients
We offer a variety of options to meet different needs and preferences, including:
- Vegan soaps
- Goat’s milk soaps
- Soaps made with tallow and lard, using time-honored methods
Every ingredient we use serves a purpose—chosen specifically for its benefits to the skin and its alignment with our commitment to quality.

It’s about sharing a craft I love, creating something meaningful, and giving back to others. That’s why we intentionally keep our prices at or below many other soap makers—because quality, natural products should be accessible.

- For 2026, we are proud to support The Trevor Project, helping provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ youth
